IGNOU OPENMAT Syllabus

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi has conducts OPENMAT annual MBA entrance test conducted to test the aptitude of the aspirants seeking admission to IGNOU affiliated institutes. OPENMAT 2020 XLVII is scheduled to be conducted on 29th April 2020 and the registration for the exam have already commenced.

IGNOU OPENMAT Syllabus & Exam Pattern:

Detailed section-wise list of topics which will help you formulate a study plan for success in the exams. These topics are not officially announced by either NTA or IGNOU; however, they are based on the past trend as questions asked in the previous OPENMAT MBA examinations.

# English Language Section: In this section, aspirants can expect reading comprehension, questions from grammar based topics such as fill in the blanks, sentence correction, para jumbles among other topics. Apart from this, general questions will be based on topics such as vocabulary, synonyms, and antonyms. It should be noted that all the questions from each topic will be asked in the form of multiple choice questions with each question carrying 4 options.

# Reasoning Section: Reasoning section of the OPENMAT exam is a little tricky one. The section aims to test the reasoning skills of the aspirants; hence the questions in this section are moderately difficult ones. Candidates can prepare for topics such as Cause and Effect, Statements and conclusions, Symbol Based problems, Coding and decoding, Critical reasoning, Family tree, Statements and assumption, Visual reasoning, Assertion and reasons, and Assumption-Premise-Conclusion among others. The questions from reasoning section are generally time-consuming to solve. Therefore, candidates are advised to practice a lot of reasoning questions before the D-day.

# Quantitative Aptitude Section: In the quant section, aspirants are advised to study topics mentioned as under:
Algebra, Ratios and Proportions, LCM, HCF, Statistics, Mean, mode, median, Permutations and combinations, Progressions, Arithmetic Progression, Geometric Progression, Geometry, Number Systems, Trigonometry etc.
Questions from these topics have been frequently seen in the exam. A thorough practice of questions from these topics will help you crack quant section of OPENMAT exam with ease.

# General Awareness Section: In this section, candidates must expect questions from both current and static GK. Considering the vase range of Current affairs topics, stay updated with the latest happening in the past one year. Questions from topics such as Indian Constitution, Government, Laws, Famous People, Achievements, Organisations (both Indian and International), History, Geography, Economy, Politics, States should be prepared. As far as the world economy is concerned, prepare for countries and capitals, Famous Organisations, Leaders, World Economy, Summits. Also read latest events from the field of Science, Industry, and Trade etc. Daily reading of newspaper and magazines would help you prepare for this section well.
