These examinations are gate way to various prestigious positions in several government departments such Administration, Police, Income Tax, Forest, Railway, Health, and others.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a central body that is responsible for conducting various civil examination for Civil Services in the country. Part XIV – Services Under the Union and the states – article no. 315 to 323 of Indian Constitution describes the role of Public Service Commission for the union and a Public Service Commission for each state.
The commission is engaged in executing various tasks such as recruitment to services & posts under both, Union and State; Advising the Government on various issues and concerns related to examinations’ rules, regulations and others; and controlling various disciplinary cases for the examinations and appointments.
The civil services can are divided into three categories such as All India Services, Central Services and State Services.
