Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) – The Ministry of Power, Government of India, New Delhi has invited online application for the recruitment of Chairperson and Member Positions for the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. These are statutory positions responsible for regulating the electricity sector in these regions, established under the Electricity Act, 2003. The appointments will be made by the Government of India.
JERC Chairperson & Member Vacancies 2025:
1. Chairperson: 01 Post
Age Limit: Upto the age of 65 years.
Emoluments & Benefits: Equivalent to a Secretary to the Government of India, entitled to perks and allowances as admissible to an Additional Secretary or the pay that an officer of the same rank as at his retirement would draw, whichever is lower.
2. Member: 02 Posts (One for J&K and One for Ladakh)
Age Limit: Upto the age of 62 years.
Emoluments & Benefits: Equivalent to a Joint Secretary to the Government of India, entitled to perks and allowances as admissible to a Joint Secretary or the pay that an officer of the same rank as at his retirement would draw, whichever is lower.
Selection Process: A Search-cum-Selection Committee will recommend suitable candidates. The selection process will adhere to the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003, and relevant guidelines issued by the Government of India. Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview.
