In this section, candidates will be given two tasks. In the first task, candidates have to write 150 words looking at the given data table or diagram. In contrast, in the 2nd task, candidates are asked to provide factual information, justify an opinion, or solve the problem raised in about 250 words. There will be two questions each, and 60 mins will be given. However, there is a difference in the pattern of question that has been asked in IELTS Academic & IELTS General Training.

In IELTS, Academic candidates will have to do two tasks. In the first task, candidates will be provided with a paper containing a diagram/ graph or table, and candidates will be asked to illustrate the given data in their own words. In the second task, candidates are asked to write an essay to respond to your illustration with an example.

In IELTS General Training, candidates will be given two tasks. In the first task, they will be asked to write a letter on a given topic or situation, whereas, in the second task, they will be asked to draft an essay supporting their views regarding the letter. Q1. How much time will be given for completing tasks 1 & 2?
Answer: For completing task 1, you will get a time duration of 20 minutes, whereas for completing task 2, 40 minutes will be given.

Q2. Is it difficult to score good marks on the IELTS Writing test?
Answer: Its difficulty level depends upon the candidate. If the candidate has good preparation and has a command of English, it might seem too easy, but it might appear not easy to qualify if the candidate lacks control over English.
