IFS (Main) Exam Final Result 2019-20: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi has recently released the result of the Indian Forest Service (Main) Exam Final 2019-20. Candidates can check their results in the merit list with the help of their roll number. Applicants have to go through the preliminary test, main exam, and interview round for final selection. The final ranking is based on IFS main (written and interview) examination.
UPSC releases the result for the preliminary and main examination in the merit list form. Candidates are ranked as per their scores secured in the respective examination. Refer to the dates table provided below to know more about UPSC IFS result 2020.
UPSC IFS Selection Process: The selection procedure of UPSC IFS 2020 is done through the following stages:
– Preliminary Exam: A common civil services examination is conducted for both IAS and IFS. Civil services examination acts as a screening test for the selection of candidates for IFS (main).
– Main Exam: This is the main stage of the selection procedure as final selection is based on IFS main (written exam and interview round) exam. There are 6 sections in the mains paper. A total of 1400 marks are allotted to mains exam out of which candidates have to secure the minimum qualifying marks prescribed.
– Interview round: Candidates are called for interview round to test their personality. IFS interview round carries 300 marks with no minimum qualifying marks. The final ranking is based on written and interview round.
UPSC IFS Personality Test: Candidates have to go through a personality test i.e interview round. The objective of this round is to check the suitability of the candidate for IFS service. Candidates are tested in a personality test not only based on their academic study but also their intelligent interests. Selected applicants are also tested on the basis of their knowledge about the current events happening in the country and around the world. Through this round, the candidate’s mental qualities, conversation skills, intellectual curiosity, critical powers of observation, leadership skills, alertness of mind, etc are evaluated.

Steps to download IFS (Main) Exam Final Result 2019-20:
- Visit the official website of UPSC.
- To check results, candidates have to click on ‘final result’ tab.
- Now, click on ‘Examination final result’.
- After clicking on that, the list declared result is displayed. Click on the IFS main result link.
- Result is then displayed on the screen. Candidates can check their result with either roll number or with their name.
