New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) received an award for the best teaching practices at the India Today Aspire Education Summit 2012.

IGNOU Vice Chancellor M. Aslam. said that "It is a great pleasure to recive the award in this category. This showcases that IGNOU is doing great and heading on the right track".

This award was shared between IGNOU and Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. This award was given to those institutions, who make learning more than a classroom experience.

IGNOU, which started with two courses and 4,000 students in 1985, has evolved into one of the world's largest varsities by offering about 450 programmes. It now has over three million students on its rolls.
