Training:

• IRS Officer Trainees are foundly known as OTs. They are trained at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussourie.
• 15 month professional training in National Academy of Customs Excise and Narcotics, Faridabad.

Career: The Revenue Department is headed by The Revenue Secretary In the Ministry of Finance. The officers are posted at Vigilance Department, Enforcement Directorate, SEBI, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Narcotics Control Bureau, and various cells in the Ministry of Finance.

Exam Pattern:

The exam is conducted in two stages:

• Preliminary Examination: It is of objective type, which is a qualifying examination.
• Main Examination: It consists of written examination and interview.

The Preliminary Examination is held in May/June and the Main Examination in October/November.
